At TBAIMS, we believe in the power of music. Our comprehensive Music Promotion Agency is based in Land O Lakes, Florida, but we work with artists near and far to help guide them to the next level of their music career. Every great alliance starts with a strategy. The Founder, Jon Landers has decided to become a mentor and consultant to the indepenedent music artists after hosting many monthly music showcases in New York City region and connecting the artists with music, entertainment, TV and film industry executives. TBAIMS will be restarting their monthly music showcases on September 9, 2022 in St. Petersburg, FL. Check the Events tab for more information.
TBAIMS is now a Music Promotion Agency Consultant, founded by Jon Landers that has been helping independent music artists with opportunities to perform at various venues since 2013. TBAIMS originally stood for The Big Apple Indie Music Series. It has transitioned to stand for The Best Artist Indie Music Series going forward. Jon has developed relations with many of the top artist development agencies in LA, NY, Nashville and FL. as well as with many music festivals across the globe to continuously find other playing opportunities for his family of independent music artists. Whether you're new to the music scene or already have a long track record in the industry, Jon brings a passionate approach to every project he is involved in. At TBAIMS we are connecting through music.
We are always looking for special people that have the same passion for music and that would like to be a part of the TBAIMS team. Contact us if you are one of those inspired people.
In 2010, Jon Landers started a networking event in Danbury, CT as part of a networking group called Network Plus founded by the late Ted Fattoross and later became Networking With Music. Jon invited a local band to come to the Palace Theatre in Danbury to connect with different businesses. And there was a meet & greet with the band at the end. This was the catalyst to start The Big Apple Indie Music Series in New York City starting at the Gibson Guitar Studios on the West Side of Midtown Manhattan. Some of the other venues where the showcases were held was Tammany Hall, Ella Lounge, The Cutting Room, Tobacco Road, Latin Quarter and finally Toshi's Living Room. All but one has since closed down.
In the process of getting this started, Jon added the team of Brian Jaccoma, Jerry D'Imperio and Qiana L. Williams to run the showcases and had a few different people to MC the showcases. The artists that performed were always introduced by the MC with a short bio of the band and/or artist. We also offered a Music Pitch Session to any artist, whether they were performing or not to bring a set of headphones and a iPod or device to have any of the industry executives attending that night to provide any feedback on the artists music. Some of the people that were guest MC's included Alysia Stern, Susan Rybin, Maria Camila Hernandez, Lucy Norris, Craig Allen, Nina Martinez, Lauren D, Latisha McDougal, Qiana Williams and Dan Nainan.
There was always a Step & Repeat at the venue for interviews and photo shoots. This was no ordinary music showcase; it was an event, a happening that quickly became one of the most popular music showcases in New York. They averaged from 100 - 300 attendees per showcase. There were always celebrities that showed up from time to time to enjoy the music as well.
On October 10, 2013 we were part of one of the last CBGB's festivals.
July 8th of 2015 was the last showcase held in New York City as Jon was about to relocate to Florida to be near his new granddaughter in Tampa.
We are making the effort to bring you new up and coming independent music artists of most genres to a venue near you. Will you support us? It is our intention to not only provide great music talent, but to also compensate the artists in a way the industry has not when it comes to local music venues.
With the stipends your provide, 85% will go to the artists that perform for our showcases, always dividing up the total equally among the band and it's members. 15% will go to support our costs to bring you these showcases to include any promotion costs and venue costs to include production and backline costs. These events do not come cheap and it is very important to us with the quality of the sound systems used so you can actually hear the vocals for each artists; something that can be hard to find going venue to venue. We promise to bring complete transparency to all that we do. Refreshing, isn't it?
We invite corporate sponsors to join our efforts. We may not be a non-profit, however we do keep very little of what you provide for support. We put most of what you provide into the production and marketing of our events. Won't you join us? You can check out our Sponsorship Deck here.
If you want to be a part of this going forward, please contact us. We will answer any and all questions you may have. We thank you.

I actually got into the music industry coming from the lawn & garden and hardware industry. I was a manufactuer's representative selling and servicing The Home Depots and big box home centers from Maine to Virginia. In 1999 I went through a divorce from a 29 year marriage. In the three years following my divorce, my mom was diagnosed with colon cancer, my dad attempted suicide because of my mom's condition and my brother was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. This led me into a deep depression. In 2001 I changed careers and purchased a graphic design business called Creative Desktop; closed on the purchase on 9/7/01 not knowing what was about to happen on 9/11. I changed the name of the business to Creative Group LLC as I felt the original name was already outdated and did what I could to keep it going despite the fact that I was still dealing with my depression. One day I happened to walk into a Circuit City, saw a keyboard, hit the demo keys that played the theme to the James Bond Movies for which I was a big fan of and, by impulse, purchased the keyboard, labeled the keys and used the built in loops to compose my music and write lyrics to go with it. If I had not gone to this Circuit City to buy this keyboard, I know for a fact you would never have seen the start of TBAIMS. In 2006 I remarried and wrote my vows into a song for our first dance at our wedding called This Special Moment. My producer, Bobbi Tammaro aka FunkeeBoy outsourced the vocals as I was the first to admit I could not sing on key. The only track you will hear me on is a bluesy rapping song called The Midlife Crisis Blues. All of the other song tracks are recorded by other independent music artists that my producer outsourced for the vocals.

I have written many poems, thoughts and even a short story that I compiled over the years dating back to my days in high school where I began writing an assortment of material during my adolescent years up to current times. I have saved many of these and decided to compile them into one place along with a history of my experiences growing up in New York, Massachusetts and more currently Florida. They are in no particular chronological order. I do include the lyrics to the songs I've written since I started to write in 1999. That was my therapy from going through a divorce from a 29 year marriage and following up years later with my second marriage where I wrote my vows into a song to be played for the first dance for our wedding.
